The spark was ignited back in 1992 when Kenton began running cross-country and track for his small-town high school in Bellefonte, PA. But, after four years of racing, he went off to school in Philadelphia and retired his running shoes. He had run so much in high school that he was done with it. On top of that, he started smoking and picked up bad eating habits.
One day that all changed. In 2001, Kenton kicked the bad habits and laced up his running shoes again. By 2002, he competed in his first triathlon and ran several road races. Then, Kenton got serious about endurance sports. The following year, he ran three marathons and completed six triathlons, including two half-iron distances.
All was going well until a hurdle presented itself later that year: he was laid off. Thoughts of owning a business began to surface. In order to succeed, Kenton knew he'd have to be creative and come up with something that did not require much capital. And it had to tie in to his love of endurance sports.
While visiting a farmer’s market in central Pennsylvania, he came across a family selling homemade, all-natural soap bars. That's when the concept for a personal care line for athletes was born.
